Jan. 20, 2015 Time Contribution Tibi Work - Programming software 3.00 HR Improvements to the LabView program and redesigned it to be easier to translate into Arduino code. We are down to 15 sec with the two Arduino Uno, driven by LabView. The min I can go for a command is 1ms, since it requires USB communication for each read and right. If we implement this into a sketch I think we can easily bring this time down to one second. I also created a timing parameter table, to make it easier to adjust the system to lower time values. We figured out how to connect it to an Arduino Uno board and we tested it with a LabView program. We now need to integrate the code into the larger LabView program that runs the entire system, for proof of concept. This LabView program will be translated into an Arduino sketch later. Jan. 1, 2015 Time Contribution Lai Idea contribution 1.00 Idea Contributed with two very important ideas. 1. Use the "Hi 5" gesture for having the bracelets exchange profiles to produce a signal. This gesture is fun and it is also an icebreaker. 2. Instead of having users filling up profiles, we can use Facebook and its API to get user's data and do the matchmaking. In this case, people just need to sign in with their Facebook account and a program running on a computer will turn their Facebook data into a profile. Nov. 27, 2014 Time Contribution Tibi Work - Programming software 8.00 HR Finished the proof of concept with LabView for communication between the two devices. That was accomplished. After, I modify the program to run it in the Arduino hardware itself, and tested it. In other words, I removed all the technical barriers for the crowdfunding prototype to work. There is still some work to be done, which is to transfer the labview code into Arduino code, but this comes without problems to solve, it's just a translation issue. The LabView program is for building the algorithm, but we can also use LabView to program the Arduino. Almost ready, just a few more bugs to solve. Most of the work was done on communication - coordination between devices, exchange of data.
