A second test without thermal paste didn't have the same result, probable because the coupling between the 2 surfaces, a thicker thermal pad should solve this problem. Once the microcontroller is working with one it will be trivial to get the other part to work. Success the DAC and lpc1343 are communicating. The FC board's codebase will be used to implement the lpc1343 communication with the DAC. Currently writing firmware for the CLI (command line interpreter) between labview and the mcu. To simplify the hardware and reduce the overall cost, the lpc810 will attempt to replace the lpc1343. Currently (dec31st) the lpc1343 is sucessfully comunitcating with the DAC and a UART (rs232) command interface has been written which can be interfaced with labview.
