The software has been created before and serviced already a few times. I don't remember where I logged my time for this, but now I am logging it here.
I created a report document where I am going to log work on the program. You can find everything here

3-Axis piezo driver assembled and working.
The driver is on operation with the piezo stack and the piezo tube for 1h for test. The metallic enclosure is warm, but just a little, nothing to be aware.

Connectorizing the 3-axis piezo finger. Instructions here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qGbzFsd7eTMJ2wGnYq7mnx2ik7y9CZoJWg2onIih7BY
Proceeding tests, The electronic system is working well, but the frequency limit is lower than we've supposed (about 25Hz using the filtered output, accordint to the datasheet we expect 3x this frequency using the non-filtered output).
The fiber is moving on the Z-axis, but we have a XY component working at the same time. I think this is due the bad quality of the actual mechanics and the non uniformity of the springs. I've also found a mistake at the top_base, it should the rotated by 45 degrees to be aligned with the XY-axis!

Proceeding a heating test on the 3-axis PDm200: (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvKN6G919YgndEEyamtKX1ZFU0Zkb1pIUTdFS2hybWc&usp=drive_web#gid=4)
1) no external dissipation, box closed, sensor on the black heat sink, measuring each 5min
2) Using the thermal pad with adhesive (H48-6G-20-20-2.6-1A) and NO thermal paste connecting the PDm200 to the aluminum box
No load or input
3) Using the thermal pad with adhesive (H48-6G-20-20-2.6-1A) and DO using thermal paste connecting the PDm200 to the aluminum box
No load or input
The tests showed the need of using the Thermal Pad but the use of Thermal Paste have not increase the dissipation capacity. A second test without thermal paste didn't have the same result, probable because the coupling between the 2 surfaces, a thicker thermal pad should solve this problem. The thermal pad data sheet shows that some pressure is necessary to obtain an optimal response.

V5 was printed
Everything assembled and connectorized.
Looks very good, next step is test using the driver.
16/01/2014
A deviation on the Z-axis movement was see during the tests, almost 50% of the Z movement range can be seen on the XY-plane. This effect is highly undesired and its origin is not exactly known. The assumption is that the poor quality of the bases supports and the unbalance of the springs are the origin of this problem.
The tests also revealed a problem with the Upper_Base_V4. The piezo tube is rotate by 45 degrees from the right position.
Piezo tube and Upper_Base coupling alignment corrected, I also increase the coupling depth, it might improve the alignment. New version: Upper_base_V5
The same increase in the coupling depth was made at the bottom_base. New version: Bottom_base_V3

Assembling the complete system.
Piezo Tube glued with Silicone I (GE), need to wait 24h before testing.
09/01/2014
The changes worked, now there are space for the wires and the solder
08/01/2014
The new Top_Base part was printed by Daniel and Mateus.
The coupling with the piezo tube is working now. The soldering on the tube difficult the assembling and the diameters are a little loose, but it will not interfere with the assembling.
Changes made on the design, new version V4 was finished and sent to be printed by Daniel

Test results: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvKN6G919YgndEEyamtKX1ZFU0Zkb1pIUTdFS2hybWc&usp=drive_web#gid=3
The test is being conducted to verify if the piezo stack moves straight on the Z-Axis. Previous results using the 3-axis mechanical assembling showed a movement on both z-axis and XY-plane and that doesn't fit the project requirements.
The test was performed using the Piezo Stack without any mechanical constraint, I've only clamp 1 side of the piezo stack using a vise and clued a fiber at the other side as shown at the test document. The experiment was performed at different positions and the result remained unchanged.
